Pebble Local · Research · Status: Research
The internet should not determine whether you can learn.
Exploratory architecture
How a possible local learning node connects
- 01Connect
Approved educational knowledge and signed updates arrive when connectivity is available.
- 02Prepare
A governed local node stores selected resources and capabilities for the site.
- 03Serve
A school or community network connects educator, learner and shared devices locally.
- 04Continue
If the external connection drops, suitable local resources remain available.
- 05Synchronise
When connectivity returns, the node can receive approved updates and report agreed operational data.
Pebble Local is research, not a deployed service. Hardware requirements, governance, update processes and learning value still need to be tested.
Bring useful capability closer.
A local learning node could serve approved educational knowledge and selected AI capabilities over a school or community network. Learner devices could connect locally, reducing dependence on continuous external connectivity.
This is an exploratory architecture, not a claim of a deployed service.
Local changes the engineering problem.
The work must balance usefulness, hardware limits, updates, security, governance and support.
Useful on constrained hardware
Which retrieval and model capabilities remain educationally valuable within practical power, memory and compute limits?
Safe updates
How should signed software and approved knowledge updates move between connected and disconnected environments?
Local governance
Who controls sources, permissions, logs, retention and access at a school or community site?
Resilient experience
How can the interface state clearly what is available locally, what is outdated and what needs connectivity?
Research, not rollout.
Pebble Local is in exploration. We are not claiming active school deployments, completed hardware specifications or measured learning outcomes.
Explore the constraints with us.
We welcome schools, infrastructure specialists and researchers who can help test assumptions before deployment claims are made.
